Today, if I was granted three wishes, I think they would be:
1. Get a full nights sleep.
2. Not be bound by the confines of time.
3. Be organized.
The sleep thing will come in time (mild/occasional insomnia + toddler = bad nights), the time thing will never happen (deal with it), but I feel like my third wish could possibly one day come true.
Perhaps this has always been an issue of mine, as my sister recently highlighted, I often had bits and pieces all over the house in places they didn’t belong. I don’t have a lot of stuff, but the stuff I do have doesn’t always have the best home, or any home at all. It ends up on my desk, on the floor, or in the way.
So, I am commencing Operation Office. Even if it is just a game in my head for now, the game is on.
Here is a wee collection of ideas I’ve had so far.
I just like that lady’s style. If I could bottle that style and paste it onto a wall, or squeeze it into a tin of paint, I would.
Difty desk “blotter”. I still do a lot on paper, as digitally oriented as I am. I need to see things written down.
I just love that quote. I want my office to say so much about me.
Paint colors are a starting point. Not in love with the yellow, would rather it be a little warmer.
I just love the bold wallpaper. Can you say accent wall?
And the wall organizer is interesting. I have a feeling it might actually just look cluttered if not arranged well.
I am eager to see where this takes me. I am a visual person. I need to enter my “zone” to work best. I want to create a lovely little haven where my creativity can soar, where I can take a deep breath and refocus on what is at hand; a place where I can work on your beautiful projects. I want to love my office. I want to love being in there and want to invite others in. I want it to say “me” all over the place, without being kitschy or over-done.
I am on my way to a better place. Wish me luck!

Tracy Juhala - Beautiful website Francis!
This is very timely and helpful as we are designing our homeschool room from scratch. Have you checked out this series: “Where Women Create: Inspiring Work Spaces form Extraordinary Women”? One of them is at our Public Library.
franceseden - B- you will have a killer office one day. I can’t wait to see it! (you know, eventually)
And Liv: you’re hired. Seriously. Don’t you have some project or something that you can use this as? Come on!
